Visit Our Brewery

The history of the legendary Pilsner Urquell lager began in 1842 in the Pilsen brewery and since that time its fame has spread throughout the world, making it the inspiration for more than two-thirds of the beer produced in the world today, which are still called pils, pilsner, and pilsener.

What excitements await you during your tour of Pilsner Urquell:

  • You will learn about the history and secrets behind making the legendary Pilsner Urquell lager
  • You can see the actualspot in the brewery where Pilsner Urquell beer has been brewed since 1842
  • We shall guide you through our modern bottling plant, with its capacity of 120,000 bottles per hour; a unique exposition on the ingredients we use; and the historic and modern Pilsner Urquell brewhouse
  • The tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery would not be complete without a visit to thehistoric brewery cellars, where you can taste unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell on tap straight from oak lager barrels (for those over 18 years old)

  1. "The guide was both witty and very informative with process of brewing. The brewery is so large that we had to board a bus to visit certain areas. The higlight of the tour was visiting the cellars, which were very cool, so do take something a jumper or a coat, as you will notice a sharp drop in ttemperature. After twisting and turning round various tunnels, we finally cam to a halt in front of a row of oak barrels that were fermenting the beer. This was 'unfiltered', and the very barrels that are currently doing the rounds in various selected London Pubs. It was nice to finally get a taste of pure unfiltered Pilsner Urquell. A thirst quenching tour."

  2. "Great, informative tour. Delicious samples. You must try the unfiltered version of the famous Pilsner. "

  3. "We toured the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Our tour guide for the brewery was excellent, very personable & knowledgeable. It's amazing! The brewery works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each day they produce 60,000 bottles of beer and 31,000 cans of beer. We then toured the old brewery system complete with the oak barrels. At the end of the tour, we sampled beer from the big oak barrel. This tour is definitely worth it!!"

  4. "For anyone who calls themselves a beer enthusiast, this is the place to be. The tour was fun and the brew was superb. If you're anywhere near Pilsen, you better stop in"
